About Billy Rosen
Billy Rosen is a jazz guitarist based between Hanover, New Hampshire and West Palm Beach, Florida. He studied jazz at the University of Pittsburgh under renowned saxophonist Nathan Davis, where he developed a deep appreciation for melody, improvisation, and the tradition of straight-ahead jazz.
In 1983, a severe case of tendinitis forced Billy to step away from the guitar. In search of a new path, he entered medical school at the age of thirty-six, beginning a second career that would span decades.
After a twenty-year hiatus from playing, advances in hand surgery made it possible for Billy to return to the instrument that first shaped his creative life. Now retired from medicine, he has fully re-embraced his passion for jazz.
Today, Billy focuses on playing, recording, mixing, and engineering, as well as booking and performing gigs throughout the local jazz community. His work reflects a lifelong relationship with the music—one shaped by patience, persistence, and a profound love for the art form.
